charon's fall

-Kira moving closer to him as she barks softly, sniffing his hand as Scarlet smirks- "Start with the paws, when her paws are through that slide it gently over her head, then fasten it under her stomach"

*josh carfuly pulls her paws through then slips it over her head before fastening it*

"See?" -Scarlet grinning as she watches him, Kira looking at the harness as she wags her tail as Scarlet smirks and slides two fingers under the harness- "Always make sure you can fit two fingers under the strap. Otherwise it is too tight"

*josh nods to scarlett looking at the harness making slight adjustments until it is just right*

-Kira biting the harness gently as she looks at Josh, Scarlet standing as she grabs her bag- "Now lets see if she will listen to you. She has yet to start proper hunting training. But she can catch small things like a mouse, ask her to go and fetch you one"

*josh speaks in a nervous voice* "kira? can you get me a mouse please?"

-Kira looking at Josh and then to Scarlet as she nods, yapping as she runs off into some bushes as Scarlet smiles slightly- "Whilst she is doing that. I wanted to ask you something. Remember when you put that bandage on Okami? And you were a little... firm with her?"

*josh looks nervously at scarlett* "yeah?"

"Obviously don't do that. But I will use Bodolf as an example. I never forced him to take the injection. I let him come to me for it. They need to come to their own decision. So if you ever have to bandage a Hybrid again. Be gentle, keep your voice soft and low. Because chances are they are more upset and stressed than you." -Scarlet smiling as she rubs Josh's good arm gently, glancing towards the bush as she sees Kira pounce on a mouse and growl softly whilst Scarlet chuckles- "She has yet to learn the grace and stealth like her mother"

*josh nods and looks at the bush*

-Kira padding proudly out of the bush as the mouse's body hangs from her mouth, placing it by Josh's feet as she looks up at him and wags her tail, Scarlet leaning over to Josh as she whispers- "Lean down and thank her. Stroke her head or rub behind the ears"

*josh kneels down and pet's kira's head* "thank you little one, you did good" *he then smiles at her*

-Kira looking up at him as she wags her tail, licking his hand gently as Scarlet chuckles and looks at Josh- "Doing okay so far?"

*josh looks up at scarlett* "so far so good*

-Kira sitting down as she pants, flicking her ears as she keeps her eyes on Josh- "Hybrid's are good for a number of things. Being your friend, protector and a hunter. So it is always good to keep a special bond with them. you don't want them to turn around one day and bite your arm off"

"has that ever happened to you then?"

"No.. I learned from my father. And I raised Okami myself from being a pup. that is why it is best you bond with Kira now." -Scarlet smiling a little as she sits down, rubbing her arm and looking at the ground as she sighs- "Only until recently. Have I learnt what my father really did when I wasn't around. And where Okami came from.."

"oh... hybrids... he..." *josh sighs and lowers his head*

"He was breeding Hybrids. Okami's mother was a pure blood wolf from a pack not far from here. Her brother is in this village also. They were both turn away from their mother at a very young age. That is why I am surprised Okami is such a good mother.."

-Scarlet shrugging a little and sighing, looking at Kira she smiles a little-

"Of course Okami found this out not so long ago. About where she came from.. she met her mother. and realised Requiem was her half brother. She.. dealt with it bad for a few days"

*josh speaks with his head still down* "i bet that was good fun"

"Not really." -Scarlet sitting on the ground as she watches Kira play with the mouse, smiling a little- "So i want this little one to have the best human possible."

"then why offer her to me?" *josh looks at scarlett*

"Because you need her as much as she needs you. plus, you are cute." -Scarlet smirking as she stands, Kira rolling around in the dirt as she yaps and paws at the air-

"i'm cute?" *josh looks surprised*
